The Urban Yogi Jivamukti Yoga Experience was created with the idea of focusing on the influential role of contrast. While it could be easy to experience yoga teachings and being in touch with our inner self in a tranquil and isolated environment, image to do it in a fast-paced, modern and full of different stimuli city like Dubai. How our practice can be influenced or modified by it? How living and perceiving contrast can benefit our yoga path?
Every day of the Voyage that will take place in Dubai will be accompanied by a 2 hours Jivamukti practice focused on specific themes that will explore the flexibility of our body and mind, and how our yoga approach can change in different contexts sustained by new perspectives.
Each class will take place in one of the beautiful suites of The Meydan Hotel, exclusively destined for the Jivamukti activities.
Programme
DAY 1 – April 22, 2019 From Rome to Dubai
12.30PM Appointment at the Emirates airline check-in desks at Fiumicino airport in Rome.
3.25PM Departure from Rome to Dubai with the EK98 Emirates flight.
11.25PM Arrival in Dubai, visa affixing, passport control, baggage claim and transfer to The Meydan Hotel (https://themeydanhotel.com) where you will meet Jutta Ariane Mele Maurer, Advanced Certified Jivamukti Yoga Teacher. Elegant and contemporary, the Meydan Hotel is right next to the famous urban racecourse, only 10 minutes drive from the Dubai Mall, the largest one in the city, and Burj Khalifa, the tallest tower of the world. All the rooms in the hotel are very spacious, and they have the most modern comforts. The food and beverage offering is extensive starting from the international menu of the Farries restaurant to the Japanese and Chinese specialities of the Shiba, passing through the three bars hosted by the hotel. The Meydan Hotel is also characterised by its amazing infinity pool that reaches the top of its beauty during the sunset and by the exclusive spa treatments, available with a dedicated 25% discount for the Jivamukti Voyage participants.
DAY 2 – April 23, 2019 Dubai

9 AM A day dedicated to exploring Dubai.
After leaving the hall of the hotel, our tour will start by visiting the Al Fahidi District that was the historic centre of the city. Bastakiya, the heart of ancient Dubai, was renovated in 2005 and today is one of the main tourist attraction. The suggestive small alleys, the typical sand-coloured houses of the desert and the wind towers (barjeel in Arabic) – where the indoor spaces were cooled through natural air – now host shops, cafes and art galleries. The visit will continue at the Al Fahidi Fort, the oldest structure in Dubai, built in the late XVIII century as a noble residence, that later became a military garrison, and then the local prison. Today the Fort is a museum where the archaeological finds of the area are collected and exhibited alongside with photos that document the massive architectural change of the region the past few years. Walking through the street we will find the colourful souq, where all the five senses are stimulated with its over 50 desks that are set up each morning.
Crossing the river, we will continue our exploration through the Al Seef Centre that represents the heritage district of the city by celebrating the origins of Dubai Creek as a well-known pearl gathering centre. Who wants will have the possibility to visit the Burj Khalifa (optional) – the tallest skyscraper of the world with its 829 meters, and 160 floors – and go up “At the Top” enjoying a spectacular 360-degree panoramic view of the city that in the brightest days extends itself until the border with Oman.
In the evening you can choose between shopping at the Dubai Mall or assisting at the show “Son-et-lumière “of the Dubai Fountain, the largest dancing fountains in the world, at the foot of the Burj Khalifa.
Coloured and illuminated water jets oscillate with music, reaching up to 150 meters of height, giving life to what has become one of the most famous shows in Dubai. The beams of light projected on the fountain can be seen from over 30 Km of distance. The evening show is repeated every 30 minutes until 11 PM.
DAY 3 AND 4 – April, 25 – 26, 2019 Dubai

DAY 5 – April 27, 2019
Morning at your leisure.
3 PM Prepare yourself for a 4×4 adventure across the dunes in the desert that culminates in a spectacular dinner in a typical reconstructed camp of the nomadic tribes, where you will find traditional food alongside an international buffet with unlimited drinks. The experience will be enhanced by belly dance, henna tattoos, hookah and a camel ride.
DAY 6 – April 28, 2019 From Dubai to Roma
12.45PM Airport transfer.
3.45PM Departure with the Emirates EK 95 flight to Rome.
8.05PM Scheduled arrival time at Rome Fiumicino.

La Urban Yogi Jivamukti Yoga Experience è stata creata con l’idea di riflettere sul ruolo del contrasto. Se può essere più agevole fare esperienza degli insegnamenti dello Yoga ed entrare in contatto con il proprio Sé in ambiente tranquillo e isolato, immaginare di farlo in una città dinamica, moderna e piena di stimoli diversi come Dubai, può essere una sfida. Come può un contesto di questo genere influenzare e modificare la nostra pratica? In che modo elementi contrastanti tra loro possono beneficiare il nostro percorso?
Ogni giorno della Jivamukti Experience in Dubai sarà accompagnato da 2 ore di yoga che si andranno a focalizzare su temi specifici che esploreranno la flessibilità del nostro corpo e della nostra mente, cercando di capire come il nostro approccio alla pratica possa cambiare a seconda delle situazioni, sostenuto da una diversa e rinnovata prospettiva. Ogni classe si svolgerà in una delle splendide suite del Meydan Hotel, riservate esclusivamente per lo svolgimento delle attività Jivamukti.

GIORNO 1 – 22 Aprile 2019 Da Roma a Dubai
12.30 Appuntamento ai banchi di accettazione della compagnia aerea Emirates all’aeroporto di Roma Fiumicino.
15.25 Partenza da Roma per Dubai con il volo Emirates EK98.
23.25 Arrivo a Dubai, apposizione del visto, controllo passaporti, ritiro bagagli e trasferimento al Meydan Hotel (https://themeydanhotel.com) dove avverrà l’incontro con Jutta Ariane Mele Maurer, Advanced Certified Jivamukti Yoga Teacher. Elegante e contemporaneo, il Meydan Hotel si trova accanto al famoso ippodromo della città, a soli 10 minuti di macchina dal Dubai Mall, il più grande centro commerciale cittadino e dalla Burj Khalifa, la più alta torre del mondo. 9.00 Una giornata dedicata ad esplorare Dubai.
Lasciata la hall dell’albergo, il nostro tour inizierà visitando l’Al Fahidi District, l’antico centro storico della città. Bastakiya, il cuore dell’antica Dubai, è stato completamente rinnovato nel 2005 e oggi è una delle attrazioni turistiche principali. I suggestivi e stretti vicoli, le caratteristiche case color sabbia e le torri del vento (barjeel in Arabo) – ospitano oggi negozi, caffè e gallerie d’arte. La visita proseguirà al Al Fahidi Fort, la più antica struttura della città, costruita nel tardo XVIII secolo per accogliere una residenza nobiliare, venne trasformata successivamente in un forte militare e poi nella prigione locale. Attualmente il Forte ospita un museo che raccoglie ed espone i ritrovamenti archeologici dell’area, unitamente ad una collezione di foto che mostra il cambiamento radicale avvenuto negli ultimi anni nell’edilizia nella regione. Camminando attraverso le strade incontreremo il coloratissimo souq, dove tutti i 5 sensi verranno stimolati dai più di 50 banchi che vengono allestiti ogni mattina con divrsi prodotti.
Attraversando il fiume proseguiremo il nostro percorso al Al Seef Centre, all’interno del distretto culturale della città, che celebra le origini del Dubai Creek come famoso centro di raccolta delle perle.
Chi lo desidererà avrà la possibilità di visitare il Burj Khalifa (opzionale) – il più alto grattacielo del mondo con i suoi 829 metri e 160 piani – salendo “At the Top” per godere di una spettacolare vista a 360 gradi della città, che nei giorni più tersi si estende fino ai confini con l’Oman.
In serata sarà possibile o fare shopping al Dubai Mall o assistere allo spettacolo “Son-et-lumière ” delle Dubai Fountain, le più imponenti fontane danzanti del mondo, che si trovano ai piedi del Burj Khalifa.
I getti d’acqua, colorati ed illuminati, oscillano a tempo di musica raggiungendo fino ai 150 metri di altezza e lanciando fasci di luce visibli a 30 Km di distanza, dando vita ad uno spettacolo che è diventato tra i più famosi a Dubai. Lo show serale si ripete ogni 30 minuti fino alle 23.00.

15.00 Preparatevi ad un’avventura in 4×4 tra le dune del deserto, che culminerà in una cena spettacolare all’interno di un accampamento tradizionale ricostruito nei minimi dettagli, dove avrete la possibilità di assaggiare specialità locali parallelamente ad un buffet internazionale con bevande illimitate. L’esperienza sarà completata da danza del ventre, tatuaggi henné, narghilè e una passeggiata a dorso di cammello.
GIORNO 6 – 28 Aprile 2019 Da Dubai a Roma
12.45 Trasferimento in areoporto.
15.45 Partenza con il volo EK 95 della compagnia Emirates diretto a Roma.
20.05 Arrivo previsto all’aeroporto di Roma Fiumicino.
