DAY 4 – DECEMBER 16, 2019 – SPIRIT OF ANGKOR EXPERIENCE
The Spirit of Angkor experience introduces visitors to the three main temples of the Angkor Archeological Park (Angkor Wat, Bayon, Ta Prohm), and also offers the opportunity to explore the spiritual aspects of these sacred sites. The tour was lovingly created by Yut, our resident Angkor expert and former Buddhist monk: all of the guides of this voyage are former monks in order to give an insight both into the temples’ history as in their spiritual tradition. The day will start with a tuk-tuk ride through the ancient Angkor forest towards the temples, where you’ll cross the thousand-year-old causeway to watch Angkor Wat as it emerges with the sunrise. Once the sun has risen, you will follow your guide through secluded side entrances and quieter corridors, weaving your way to the top of the world’s great religious structures. As you continue your journey through Cambodia’s spiritual history, you’ll spend the morning exploring the smiling faces of Bayon and the megalithic intertwined roots at Ta Prohm. In a serene, tranquil corner, there will be the opportunity to learn more about the ancient meditation techniques practised in this spiritual site for centuries, as well as receiving a traditional Buddhist blessing.

DAY 5 – DECEMBER 17, 2019 – SIEM REAP
Enjoy a full day to spend at your leisure.

DAY 6 – DECEMBER 18, 2019 – INTRODUCTION TO BUDDHISM
This day is dedicated to introducing you to Buddhism. At 8.30 AM you will meet your guide at the hotel, a former monk, and you will travel together by tuk-tuk to one of the city’s most beautiful pagodas (Buddhist temples). While walking through stupas and fragrant frangipani trees you will learn more about the history of Buddhism in Cambodia, and the fascinating relationship that it has established with ancient Animism, creating over the time a unique Khmer spiritual practice. Then you will head to the main temple to meet Buddhist monks and deepening your knowledge about their lives, their role in their communities, and receive an optional traditional blessing. From there, your journey will take you to a sacred local shrine, where there will be the occasion to understand better the importance of offerings and the symbolic significance of the lotus flowers, and how two pious elderly sisters have become part of the Siem Reap folklore. The final stop will be the Siem Reap’s oldest pagoda, where you will deepen the core teachings of Buddhist philosophy also known as “the peaceful art of living”. With the gentle instruction of your guide, this is also the perfect place to spend a few tranquil moments discovering different meditation techniques. Return to the hotel. Time at your leisure to rest or enjoy your hotel’s facilities.

DAY 7 – DECEMBER 19, 2019 – SIEM REAP
Entire day at your disposal. Organic vegan dinner at the hotel.

DAY 8 – DECEMBER 20, 2019 – VISIT THE BANTEAY SREI TEMPLE AND THE COUNTRYSIDE
Breakfast at the hotel. At 08.30 AM the day will start with a tour of the Banteay Srei Temple, the fabled pink temple of women, so called because it is made of pink sandstone and it is considered a tribute to the beauty of women. Its small size, the delicate carvings and the remarkable state of preservation make it one of everyone’s favourite temples. Note: During the visit to the Banteay Srei temple – visitors should wear shirts or blouse to cover shoulders and arms, plus long skirts or trousers (no miniskirts or short trousers).
Then we will visit a local pagoda to enjoy the unique experience of a Buddhist monk blessing ceremony dedicated to wishing you good health and a safe journey, during which you will receive a red bracelet that stands for luck and prosperity. Participants will leave purified and ready to savour the joys of travel. Return at the hotel.

GIORNO 4 – 16 DICEMBRE 2019 – SPIRIT OF ANGKOR EXPERIENCE

GIORNO 5 – 17 DICEMBRE – SIEM REAP

Rientro in hotel.

GIORNO 7 – 19 DICEMBRE 2019 – SIEM REAP
Intera giornata a vostra disposizione. Cena biologica vegana presso l’hotel.

GIORNO 8 – 20 DICEMBRE 2019 – VISITA AL BANTEAY SREI TEMPLE E ALLA CAMPAGNA CIRCOSTANTE
Prima colazione in hotel. Rientro in hotel.
